I’ve been in twice recently and I’ve loved it both times. The customer service, product knowledge and product range are spot on.
I initially headed over for a gait assessment, as my current shoes were coming to the end of their life and with a half marathon approaching in October, I needed a new pair to compete in.
This was the fourth gait assessment that I’ve had, the other three elsewhere were nowhere near as thorough. I was that confident in the advice given that I left with both pairs that were recommended in the gait assessment; New Balance 860 and Hoka Arahi 7.
I’ve mainly used the 860s since then, as I’ve got on with them so well. Two consecutive Parkrun PBs (latest being my first sub-25) and my first 10 mile race in the bag, no issues with them so far when I’ve previously been prone to arch blisters and hot-foot.
When I heard that there was a moving sale on, I had to head back to see what was on offer. They recognised me and I discussed my future needs, as my training load was going to increase now that I’m running the London Marathon.
I got kitted out with two pairs of trail shoes, the Saucony Peregrine 13 and New Balance Freshfoam X More Trail v2. I’ve yet to try them out, but they felt great and I’m very confident that they’ll see me through the winter months and also get me running when I’m on my holiday in the Lakes.
I'm a beginner runner. I did a gait analysis, with sensors in the shoes on the treadmill at the Bog Dog. You get several videos of you running along with the sensor data, which shows exactly how your feet hit the ground and where the strain is, and a lot of data on your running pattern. We tried several shoes with the sensors and tested on the treadmill, and honed on the one which gave me the best stability and variability. The lady at the store was really good. They had a good selection of shoes. The whole thing took around 45 minutes. It's a tad bit expensive than your standard online Amazon shop. But it's well worth it. You know the exact fit, and how good the top range shoes are. After all, you use your feet everyday, and you want to make sure you don't damage them.
Couldn’t be more pleased with the service from Bog Dog 😄
My sons had a gait analysis with Laura today and compared to one I had a few years ago somewhere else, the analysis today was amazing and so much better. The analysis at Bog Dog provided so much insight into their running style and the shoes that would suit them the best. They tried around 4-5 pairs each before coming away with a pair they’re both absolutely delighted with. Thank you so much Laura.
